Electricity supplied to ordinary Japanese homes is 100 volts, 50 Hz. All houses and apartments in Japan are equipped with a circuit breaker in order to prevent accidents related to electric power.

CAUTIONS:
When you use more electricity than the contracted amperage, the circuit breaker automatically shuts off the power supply. To restore the power supply turn off the switch of the appliance which may have caused the cutoff, and turn on the breaker switch.

The circuit breaker also shuts down due to electrical shorts resulting from mechanical trouble or damaged cords. Unplug the cord of the appliance and turn on the breaker switch to restore the power supply.
